Our Philosophy
A Quote By Albert Einstein The most beautiful and most profound emotion we can experience is the sensation of the mystical. It is the source of all true science. He to whom this emotion is a stranger, who can no longer wonder and stand rapt in awe, is as good as dead. To know that what is impenetrable to us really exists, manifesting itself as the highest wisdom and the most radiant beauty which our dull faculties can comprehend only in their primitive forms -this is knowledge, this feeling is at the center of true religiousness. ![]()
The one thing that separates pagans from other religions
is that we are a self-governing belief system. This means
that we have the freedom to critically think about what
values, ethics and lifestyle we feel is right for us. We
have found that due to this philosophy, we should hold
ourselves to a higher standard. When we recognize that we
can attain the attributes of deity, we become more
understanding and respectful of the rights of others and
encourage them to live their lives to the fullest under
the mandate ..."If it harms none..." Below is the philosophy that we at Circle of Transformation adhere to in order to live a life of ethical freedom.
1. The Craft is a life to live, not a path to follow.
"To follow" means to us that someone else is leading the
way. We believe that each individual should embrace the
fact that they create their on reality. Only you control
how you react to the world around you. The Craft is not
something to dabble in, but a lifestyle you create to
experience everyday.
2. The duality of nature
For every positive there is a negative. This is just
fact. That gentle breeze that caresses your face, can
relocate your home in a storm. The important thing to
remember is that bad things happen. It is how we handle
those events that can make for positive end results. The
other important fact to remember is that humans have no
problem being bad. We have struggles with being good. One
has to embrace the fact that we can cause harm in order
to control those impulses. In denying our basic nature of
good and bad, we lose control of our emotions and
responses.
3. Magic is not pulling a rabbit out of a hat.
What we consider a fact of life, early man saw as magic.
Rain, snow, lighting, fire...these things were Magickal to
primitive man, for he had no idea where they came from.
In learning how to make cold water hot, by using fire, he
learned to manipulate his environment to better himself.
This is true magic, -"to bend or shape"- ,ourselves, the
way we think and our environment to better ourselves and
things around us for the good of all.
4. Full Moons.... Time for spells
So often we have found that people "pull out" their
paganism only at full moons to work spells. They have
forgotten that this is a time of renewing. The full moons
are the time of the month that is the most powerful. We
feel the pull of the cosmic forces. This should be a time
of reflection, a time to stop and look at your mundane
world and see where you are, what goals are being met,
and what changes need to be made.
5. Sabbats....Mischief and Mayhem
Pagans love to have a reason to party. Many feel that
Sabbats are made for that purpose. The Sabbats mark the
turning of the wheel of the year. We should never forget
that this is the time we recognize that we are not the
universe but simply a part of it and give the God and
Goddess due respect for what they have provided for us,
birth, growth, and rebirth of our life.
6. Last but most important...The inner bell.
At some point you realized that the current mythology
does not ring true for you. We do not proselytize.
Usually those who have listened to their inner bell, seek
out other like-minded people. This is not an easy life
style to follow. Many that have decided to follow the
Craft of the Wise, find that they cannot freely tell
family and friends of their beliefs. The Burning times
were a very real event in history. Persecution still
remains for many in this religion. We are a community and
should embrace each other as family as well as friends.
We should support those who have no one to turn for
sharing their enthusiasm. For this reason, we urge all
that are interested to truly think, read and study the
philosophy of the Craft and if this rings that inner bell
for you, know that you will be welcomed. One should not
dabble in the Craft Of The Wise, for it is a powerful
religion that can transform your life.
